Our rough sawn Honey Mesquite lumber is available in either #1 and better select grade, and #2 and better rustic. Rough sawn Black Mesquite is prime grade and is devoid of any large holes or wind shakes.
Our Lumber has been carefully kiln-dried to a level of 6% to 8% moisture content. This conditioning process eliminates any insects such as the powder post beetle from the wood.

Guide to grades and sizing
Mesquite lumber is graded according to specific grading rules.
Grade #1 and better – Small knots, checks and other natural defects are allowed along with the natural varying color of the wood. Sapwood is not allowed on finished surfaces. All face widths contain grades approximately one half each of Select and #1.
Grade #2 and better – Larger knots, checks and other natural defects are allowed along with the natural varying color of the wood. Sapwood is not allowed on finished surfaces. Grade #2 and better is sometimes termed ‘rustic’ grade and provides some real character.
Thickness – Lumber thickness is measured in inch quarters. Therefore lumber that is 4/4 is one inch thick (25mm), and 6/4 is 1-1/2 inches (38mm) thick. Mesquite lumber is rarely available in more than 2″ thickness (8/4).
